Abstract
By exploring the theories of élan vital and memory presented by Henri Bergson and relating them to scientific genres it is possible to bring scientific and humanistic disciplines closer together and better understand the human body and how it processes or interacts with knowledge or intuition.


Presenter Biography
Nan Darbous Marthaller earned a B.A. from Antioch University Seattle, is a graduate of the Alene Moris National Education for Women’s Leadership Institute at the University of Washington and graduated from American Military University summa cum laude with a Master's in Humanities. She is currently pursuing a Humanities/Philosophy PhD at Faulkner University.
