Abstract
All graduate students are welcome to join us for the PAMLA Graduate Student Mixer on Saturday, November 9, from 8:15 until 10 pm, outside at the Taylor Garden (next to the conference center). Come out and relax with us with some delicious snacks, music by Porkboii Jr., and a cash bar. Take a breather from the stresses of conference activity while getting to know your fellow PAMLA graduate students. Beverages will be available for purchase.
Presenter Biography
Alexa Rae Barger is PAMLA's current (2023-25) Graduate Student Representative, and a PhD candidate in the French section of the Department of European Languages and Transcultural Studies at UCLA. Her dissertation focuses on African and Afro-Caribbean narratives of migration, labor, and solidarity in France-based literature. Her research interests include contemporary writings and films by African diasporic artists in France, as well as literary translation.
