Abstract
This presentation will combine both Levertov’s poetry and research on veteran homelessness. In The Freeing of the Dust, Levertov depicts the lives of the Vietnamese natives and how their lives significantly changed during and after the Vietnam War. Levertov exposes the lives of the people left in (and returning to) a broken country (both Vietnamese and American veterans). Some research that will be presented will include the implications of the lack of aid (both monetary and mental) for veteran reintegration.
