As the vision of an "academic career" changes, what are the options for someone who might be looking for a different path, or is looking to change careers after spending time in the academy?

Is there life outside the Ivory Tower? A session for students, those looking for a change in career, or someone simply interested in what working outside the traditional “academic career” might look like, this roundtable will act as a true discussion, featuring professionals who speak to their own career paths and what balance they work towards with their academic and professional lives. This roundtable also hopes to address the perceptions of “failure” if someone pursues a nonacademic career, how perceptions of nontraditional academic paths can be changed, generational attitudes on the subject, the concept of the “side hustle,” and working with students who are struggling with their own career choices.
