We are open to a range of paper topics dealing with French and Francophone literature and culture, but are particularly interested in papers that engage with the special conference theme of "Geographies of the Fantastic and the Quotidian.

We are open to a range of paper topics dealing with French and Francophone literature and culture, but are particularly interested in papers that engage with the special conference theme of "Geographies of the Fantastic and the Quotidian."

Graduate students, tenure-track faculty, contingent faculty, and independent scholars are invited to take part in this event that treats a wide array of literary, cultural and pedagogical topics, including, perhaps:

*The quotidian in French film, literature, television, music, podcasts, slam poetry

*French depictions of daily life in colonial and post-colonial texts and visual arts

*The fantastic in French and Francophone literature, including mysteries, science fiction, fantasy

*The fantastique from the chanson de geste to the roman noir

*The fantastique populaire, the fantastique littéraire

*Magical realism in Francophone Africa

*Teaching the quotidian in Francophone texts

*LGBTQI identities in teaching French language
