This session welcomes paper proposals on any aspect of Jewish literature and culture in Spain, Portugal, or Latin America. The session aims to shine a light on the oft unknown or forgotten experiences of Jews and people of Jewish background in the Iberian world and to make important connections between these experiences across time. Topics of particular interest would address identity, belonging, marginalization, and relations between individuals and societies in works by and about Jews and people with a connection to Judaism in these lands. Additionally, given the conference theme of "Translation in Action," papers that attempt to engage with this theme are particularly welcome.
