In recent years, Latinx literature has significantly showcased the writing of memories. These memories come from various places, including migration, stories of resilience, mental health battles, addiction, or overcoming obstacles due to difficult socio-economic backgrounds. These narratives often reflect the complex intersections of identity, culture, and survival. Echoes of the Past in Written Memories: The Latinx Experience, is a creative session where participants will share a written piece, aligning with this year's conference theme. The session aims to highlight creative work that reflects the stories the Latinx community faces in the United States, but that originate from their past. The stories shared may explore themes of memory, loss, and the preservation of cultural heritage. The feelings of displacement and identity lost to oblivion are shared experiences among participants. The session will be bilingual, and both English and/or Spanish texts are welcome.
