Recently the hugely successful Cine-Lit Conference in Portland, Oregon died after 30 years, but at PAMLA it has an opportunity for new life and longevity. Paper proposals may address the 2026 PAMLA theme (Our Ruling Classes: Class, Power, Conflict) or an open topic in Peninsular and/or Latin American cinema with an emphasis on the Hispanic film/literary relationship.

This session crosses the standing sessions of Film and Literature, Film Studies, Latin American Cinema, International Film and Media, and Spanish and Portuguese. It doesn't quite fit in any category because Peninsular cinema (Spain) is excluded from Latin American Cinema, the others either cover a broader scope or the film sessions are in English.
This is an untapped source for a continuing session at PAMLA as established scholars in Hispanic film (Spain and Latin America) are missing (I'm missing!) Cine-Lit.
