We are seeking proposals for papers focusing on the literature, culture, and social history of the British/Anglophone long-eighteenth century. This standing session entertains paper proposals on a wide variety of topics; engaging with the conference theme of "Our Ruling Classes: Culture, Power, Conflict" is encouraged but not required. Papers might take up questions related to the distribution of power, birthright aristocracy in literature and culture, and revolutionary movements against traditional hierarchies. Proposals on other topics pertaining to British/Anglophone literature and culture of the period are likewise welcome.
